Hyderabad police have denied permission for the rally and a total of 6,000 police personnel have been deployed across the state.

Imposing restrictions on vehicular movement on Tank Bund, the police have surrounded JAC chairman professor M Kodandaram's house in Secunderabad's Tarnaka area

Kodandaram who announced the march adding that it would be held defying the police received support from the Left parties.

Special police forces have also been deployed at the Osmania University. Previously, the Million March was held on March 10, 2011 demanding a separate Telangana.
