Krishnaiah raises pitch for BC Sub Plan
Backward Classes ( BC ) Welfare Association President R Krishnaiah on Saturday demanded the Telangana government to include BC Sub Plan in the budget proposals for 2018-19 to be presented in the ensuing budget session of the State Assembly from next week.

Addressing the press here, the BC leader said that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held series of meeting with BC communities and made the promise of special allocations for their welfare and development in the budget. The association has been demanding to announce BC Sub Plan with Rs 20,000 crore funds in the budget.
He said that the association also requested the government to earmark funds to every BC community in proportionate to their population and encourage them to adopt their traditional occupations for livelihood.
The association has been demanding to increase allocations to BC Study Circle to Rs 250 crore from Rs 25 crore, fee reimbursement to BC students pursuing professional courses in IIT, IIM and other national institutes, construction of permanent buildings for all BC welfare residential schools and colleges and increase stipend to junior advocate to Rs 10,000 from the present Rs 1,000.
He also demanded to provide Rs 2,000 crore each to BC Corporation and MBC Corporation for the promotion of entrepreneurs in the backward communities in the new budget.
