K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday named Joginapalli Santosh Kumar, Banda Prakash Mudiraj and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav as the TRS candidates for Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 23.

Telangana Chief Minister and TRS President K. Chandrashekhar Rao on Sunday named Joginapalli Santosh Kumar, Banda Prakash Mudiraj and Badugula Lingaiah Yadav as the TRS candidates for Rajya Sabha elections to be held on March 23.

KCR finalised the candidates after having detailed discussion with the party seniors on the issue at Telangana Bhavan.

Santosh Kumar is the TRS General Secretary and also the nephew of KCR. Lingaiah Yadav hails from Nalgona and had served as TDP District president for a very long. He had joined TRS in 2015. He is presently holding the position of Secretary in the party. Another candidate, Prakash Mudiraj had actively participated in Telangana movement.

All three candidates will file their nomination papers on Monday.

Going by the strengthen in Assembly, TRS is set to win all three seats. However, the elections could be unanimous if the Congress withdraws its candidate Balram Naik, former Union Minister.
