Hyderabad: Chief Minister and Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrashekar Rao is likely to handover the survey reports on the performance of party MLAs during the Legislature Party meeting to be held on Sunday. MLAs and MLCs have been summoned to the Telangana Bhavan at 1 pm on Sunday.
The MLAs and MLCs would take lunch at 1 pm and later participate in TRSLP meeting at 2.30 pm. Sources said the Chief Minister would hand over the survey reports to the Ministers, MLAs and MLCs. It is learnt that performances of some Ministers and MLAs are not up to the mark as the performance is below 50 per cent.
It is also learnt that the Chief Minister would introduce the Rajya Sabha candidates to the MLAs during the Legislature Party meeting. Sources said party’s general secretary J Santosh’s name was finalised and among the two other names one is from Yadav community. Sources said Jaipal Yadav might be getting the chance to go to the upper House of Parliament.
If the Chief Minister decides to give chance to a leader who is with the TRS since 2001, he might go in for K Rajaiah Yadav, Chairman of Sheep and Meat Development Corporation. Name of former TDP leaders Uma Madhav Reddy and Lingaiah Yadav are also doing rounds. However, since Jaipal Yadav was also from TDP, the Chief Minister might not give two seats to leaders who joined the TRS from the TDP, said sources.
Sources said a minority leader was also likely to get a chance. The name of Mahabub Alam Khan, Chairman of Anwar-ur-Uloom education institutions has also surfaced in the list. The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen has pledged its support to the TRS candidates in Rajya Sabha. “CM sir will make the names public on Sunday’s LP meeting,” said a senior TRS leader.
Sources also said the Chief Minister would give necessary instructions to MLAs and MLCs on the strategy to be adopted during the ensuing Assembly sessions starting from Monday. Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao on Friday said the Legislature Party meeting would discuss the strategy to be adopted in the budget session. The meeting would also deliberate on the issues to be discussed during the session and who should speak on the Governor’s address and who should speak on the budget.
“The party will also discuss the topics of discussion as House belongs to all members and not just a few members who try to create disturbances,” said Harish Rao. Rao said the government would be strict against the disruptions in the House. He said that the Assembly proceedings were running smoothly during the TRS rule.
This is the last full-fledged budget session of the TRS government and the ruling party wanted to use the House to tell the people what the government had done for them during the last four years, the TRS leader said.
