The Collector was invited as a chief guest to the Mahila Vijaya Spoorthi Vijaya Yatra programme held under the leadership of Ramagundam ZPTC Kandula Sandhya Rani here at 8 Incline colony in Peddapalli on Saturday. Speaking on this occasion, the Collector said that in present days, the women have been showcasing their talent in all fields and the government is taking several steps for developing such women.

By observing the problems, which the women have been facing in fetching drinking water, the government started Mission Bhagiratha project to bail out of their problems. Very soon the people are going to enjoy the fruitful results of Mission Bhagiratha.

To develop self-confidence among women, they were being given training in martial arts in Jangoan district. In Peddapalli district also, women and girl students will be given coaching in martial arts in a large scale after the completion of summer vacations, said the Collector.

Completing 100 per cent of construction of toilets, the district had been declared as ODF, according to that the women must utilise the toilets. An awareness programme must be conducted for the people about using of toilets, ordered the Collector. Later, Collector Devasena participated in Kolatam with the women.

District Public Relation Officer G Veeraiah, Kandula Posham and women in large number participated in the programme.
