Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital on Monday when TRS workers tried to prevent Congress leaders from meeting Legislative Council chairman Swamy Goud who was injured after a Congress MLA threw a headphone during the joint address of Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to Telangana Legislature.
When Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir and Deputy CLP leader Ponguleti Sudhakhar Reddy visited the hospital, several TRS workers gheraod their convoy and raised slogans of 'Go Back' and 'Congress Down Down'.
However, the police officials immediately informed the Council Chairman about the arrival of Shabbir Ali and Sudhakar Reddy.
On Swamy Goud's instructions, both the Congress leaders were brought inside.
They expressed their sympathies and also condemned the incident.
