New Bill to be passed in Budget session
Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao informed that the new Bill on Panchayat Raj will be tabled in the current Budget session.
Hyderabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Jupally Krishna Rao informed that the new Bill on Panchayat Raj will be tabled in the current Budget session.
Replying to a question raised by TDP member Sandra Venkata Veeraiah during question hour in Legislative Assembly on Wednesday, the Minister said the State government has already framed the rules and the elections to local bodies will be held as per new Act.
However, the Minister did not disclose whether the elections will be held indirectly or directly saying that no such decision has been taken. He said the decision will be taken keeping in view the interest of development in rural areas.
He said new Panchayats have been created and some of them have been upgraded. He said the State Election Commission has already started the process of preparing voter list.
