Hyderabad : Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy said that TSRTC has 1474.54 acres of land with Bus Stations, Bus Depots, Administrative office etc.,

Out of which 54.39 acres at 31 places identified to exploit the prime lands to generate additional revenue through non-traffic sources and the construction will be done on the basis of Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) mode. Out of these 31 places, 7 projects are awarded with 33 years lease period are 3 projects at Old Bus Station, Karimnagar, Bujs Depot at Bundlaguda and Bus Station are completed for commercial operation. One project at Bus depot at Armoor is in progress and likely to be completed within a year, For the two sites Siddipet Bus Station and Gajwel Pragnapur Bus Depot tenders have been called and are scheduled to be received on April 5.

Replying to a question in Legislative Assembly during Question Hour on Thursday, he said that Oil Companies such as Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd has been permitted to set up retail fuel outlets in its vacant lands, a total of 114 locations have been allotted to Oil Marketing Companies for retail fuel outlets. Revenue will be realized in the form of lease rental earning dealer margin on sale of fuel from the Oil Marketing Companies. It is estimated that revenue which will be earned is Rs. 32 crores and added that the portion of land allocated to Oil Marketing companies is for retail fuel outlet purpose only.
