Hyderabad : Apparently for the first time in history of both erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State, the Legislative Assembly functioned without the presence of any member of the opposition party.

When the House assembled at 10 am on Thursday, all opposition benches were completely empty. While all Congress MLAs are facing suspension for the entire session, there was no member from the BJP, TDP, CPI (M) or even MIM present in the House. Almost three-fourth of Treasury benches was also vacant. This was apparently the rarest scene witnessed ever in a budget session.

The first opposition member to reach the House was BJP floor leader G. Kishan Reddy. However, he, along with other BJP members, too staged a walkout after Speaker S. Madhusudan Chary did not allow him to raise a supplementary question on the issue of Farmers' Coordination Committee as he was not the signatory to the main question. The BJP members did not return to the House for the whole day.
