Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao expressed anger over poor maintenance of the council building including his chambers, here on Wednesday. The council building was allotted to Andhra Pradesh State as part of division of assets during bifurcation. The building was recently handed over to Telangana State.

While coming out of the house after delivering his speech, K Chandrashekar Rao was surprised to see the premises in a poor state with lack of cleanliness and amenities. The Chief Minister’s chambers were also in a poor state.

The Chief Minister was displeased with the legislative staff for not making proper arrangements for his walk from his chambers to the house. K Chandrashekar Rao enquired with the legislature staff about the poor maintenance of the building premises. The officials informed the Chief Minister that there was no time for them to refurbish the area as the Andhra Pradesh government handed over the building to Telangana State only two days prior to the beginning of the budget session on March 12.

After the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana State was allotted the Jubilee Hall for the conduct of State Legislative Council sessions. Since the hall was congested, the Telangana government asked the AP government to hand over the council building which was abandoned for the last one year. The Chief Minister instructed officials to renovate the buildings and also his chambers with adequate facilities without any delay.
