​Hyderabad: The Rachakonda Special Operations Teams arrested four persons in two different cases and seized narcotic substances including seven grams cocaine, 10 LSD bolts, and around 112 kg ganja here on Tuesday.

In the first case, Batchu Ravi Kumar (23) a resident of LB Nagar and native of Nalgonda district was arrested for allegedly selling narcotic substances. The accused was a B Tech student and got addicted to drugs. In due course of consuming drugs, he came in contact with drug smugglers. He used to procure drugs like cocaine and LSD from Goa, and ganja from tribal agency areas.

Acting on a tip-off, the SOT LB Nagar police apprehended him while he was on the lookout for prospective buyers. The police booked a case under Section 20 (b) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), 1985, with LB Nagar police station.

In another case, sleuths of Special Operations Team Malkajgiri Zone along with Hayathnagar police nabbed three persons for allegedly transporting contraband to Hyderabad in a car on Tuesday. The police seized 110 kg ganja worth Rs 17 lakh.

The arrested was identified as Gaddameedi Ravinder (53) native of Warangal district, Lotha Thammi Naidu (24) a native of Visakhapatnam agency area, Anupoju Sai Shiva Kumar (22) a native of Ravulapalem village of East-Godavari district. Acting on credible information, the sleuths of SOT police intercepted a Brezza car near the Outer Ring Road at Pedda Amberpet and found huge amounts of ganja loaded in the car.

Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh M Bhagwat said, “They were procuring the ganja from Chinthaplly village of East Godavari district to Hyderabad in order to sell to the agents. The accused frequently indulged in trade of ganja. Earlier, the kingpin, Ravinder, was arrested by Excise police Warangal and Tamil Nadu for transporting ganja.”
