Hyderabad: The government on Tuesday withdrawn the security to expelled MLA of Congress Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and told the gunmen to report in the office of the SP of Nalgonda district.

A V Ranganath, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Nalgonda district, has issued the orders withdrawing the gunmen provided to Venkat Reddy. The orders said that Venkat Reddy should return the security staff to Nalgonda police.

On the other hand, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President (TPCC) N Uttam Kumar Reddy and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader K Jana Reddy on Tuesday made it clear that the government would be made responsible if something happens to MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy as his security was withdrawn. In a statement, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that withdrawal of gunmen of the MLA was an example for the base politics being practiced by the ruling party. He condemned removal of gunmen to Venkat Reddy.

He said that two MLAs of Congress has been expelled from the Assembly against the rules and the party has been fighting against the decision in the court. The action of the government was a vengeful one as already the MLA’s follower and Nalgonda Congress Leader B Srinivas was murdered.

Jana Reddy said that Venkat Reddy has several times expressed fear of threat to his life. He said that it was not correct to remove security to a person who has been facing a threat to his life. He wanted the police officials, particularly the intelligence department to think once again about the decision of removing gunmen of Venkat Reddy. He also wanted continuation of security to another expelled MLA SA Sampath Kumar.

Meanwhile, addressing the media, official spokesperson of Congress Dasoju Sravan said that only few visuals of the mic hitting Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud incident during the Governor’s address to joint session of Legislature were revealed. The visuals did not show whether the mic being flung by MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has hit the LC Chairman.

He alleged that the Advocate General of Telangana has resigned due to the immoral activities of the government. He criticised that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was trying to control the law.

He wanted to know why the government has appointed Harish Salve as prosecutor of the government who charges heavily. Sravan said that Venkat Reddy has sacrificed his Minister post for the sake of Telangana and he was four times MLA. Withdrawal of gunmen of the MLA was atrocious, he admitted.
