500 polluting units to be shifted beyond ORR

Hyderabad: The Telangana government will take steps to shift the polluting industries beyond the Outer Ring Road. Even the pharma city would be shifted out of the city. According to Industries Minister KTR, as many as 500 industries have been categorized as either re or orange and both will be moved beyond the ORR in a phased manner.

Replying to various questions in the Telangana Assembly, the minister said that the industries would be shifted to nine identified locations.

He further said that common effluent treatment plans would be constructed in the new locations. As many as 13 industries, which were found to dump their industrial waste into the nalas, were issued notices, he said.
