As the mercury levels are increasing to the dreaded 40 degree Celsius in Hyderabad during this summer, relief might not be possible for the citizens from the intense dry heat.

According to the IMD Hyderabad, the maximum temperatures had crossed 40 degree Celsius this season.

On Friday, the maximum temperatures in the city were at 40.1 degree Celsius while Medak district too experienced the intense heat with a maximum temperature recorded at 41 degree Celsius.

The intensity is so much that the public is refraining from venturing out and protect themselves from the hot weather conditions particularly during the afternoons as the usually bustling Secunderabad-Punjagutta stretch, Banjara Hills-Madhapur stretches in the city remained deserted on Friday afternoon.

Even other districts including Adilabad, Mahabubnagar, Nizamabad and Ramagundam recorded temperatures between 40 degree Celsius and 42 degree Celsius.

The IMD Hyderabad stated that the city has chances of receiving thunderstorms but the dry weather is likely to remain as the temperatures are expected to hover between 40 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius.
