Hyderabad: Stating that there is a Congress wave across the Telangana state, TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy said the people would topple the TRS government in the next elections.
Addressing a massive public meeting at Peddapalli on the 10th day of Congress Praja Chaitanya Yatra on Monday evening, Uttam Kumar Reddy said the countdown has begun for Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao as people have decided to throw his government out in the next polls.
He said KCR's continuance as Chief Minister was a threat to the democracy. He accused KCR of showing utter disrespect to the Assembly considered to be the temple of democracy.
By enacting the drama of attack on Council Chairman Swamy Goud just to prevent Congress legislators from entering the House, KCR has insulted the people who elected their representatives.
"Nothing happened in the Assembly and no one was injured," he said and asked KCR to explain why Advocate-General Prakash Reddy had resigned from the post.
He said KCR and even Assembly Speaker S Madhusudan Chary must explain the reason why they were hesitant to submit the video footage of the Assembly before the court.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said that KCR has been living in fear of losing power. He said TRS leaders are getting nightmares that they were being exposed by the Congress for their failures.
He said KCR feared that Congress leaders would question him in the Assembly for not giving three acres of land to Dalits, 12% reservation to the Muslims and STs, double bedroom houses to the poor and other unkept promises.
Just to overcome his fear of being questioned, KCR had enacted the attack drama and suspended all members of main Opposition for the entire session. He said just the way the TRS government had expelled two Congress MLAs from the Assembly, KCR government will face the expulsion in next elections.
The TPCC chief said that KCR has lost moral grounds to continue in power after the exposure made in the report of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG). He said the TRS government has borrowed huge loans to pay to Andhra contractors while putting the future of Telangana children at stake. He said future generations of Telangana would be forced to clear the huge loan burden being put by KCR for his own personal gains.
Uttam Kumar Reddy said farmers' welfare would be the top priority for the Congress and promised that, when voted to power, the party government would waive off crop loans up to Rs 2 lakh in a single take. Further, remunerative prices would be paid for all crops and crop insurance premium would be paid by the government.
He also promised that Abhaya Hastham Pension for women SHG members would be revived and nearly 6 lakh SHGs would be given Rs 1 lakh revolving fund. He also promised that lakhs of new jobs would be created, and the jobless youth would be paid unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 per month. He also promised to get water from the SRSP to Peddapalli. He said a 100-bed hospital would be constructed for the people of Peddapalli.
Earlier, Uttam Kumar Reddy reached the meeting venue in a massive rally. The response was so overwhelming that the bus yatra literally turned into padayatra for nearly 5 km. With hundreds of Congress workers walking before the bus, the TPCC chief himself got down and walked with them till the meeting venue.
The meeting was also addressed by senior leaders, including Jaipal Reddy, Shabbir Ali, DK Aruna, T Jeevan Reddy, Dasoju Shravan, Nerella Sharada and others.
Earlier in the day, Uttam Kumar Reddy and other leaders visited 'Ramagundam B' Plant which is on the verge of closure. He demanded that the plant be revived and upgraded to 800x2 MW capacity.
