Hyderabad : Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said that the attacks on people belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes have increased during the present regime of BJP-led NDA regime.

Speaking to media persons after paying floral tributes to Babu Jagjiram on his jayanthi on Thursday, Kadiam expressed concern over rising attacks on Dalits and Girijans across the country. He said such attacks even 70 years after independence are highly regrettable. He said there has been a rise in attacks after BJP came to power at the Centre.

The Deputy CM said that there should be no change in the SC, ST Act and it should be implemented by all governments. He alleged that the Central Government was trying to weaken the laws that were framed for protection of SCs and STs. He said if BJP Government at the Centre was sincere towards SCs and STs, then it should convince the Supreme Court on not making amendments to the law.
