Tanvitha to be with foster mom

​Kothagudem: Finally, there is some solace for three-year-old Tanvitha, whose future has been hanging in balance for over five months, with a court in Kothagudem on Wednesday issuing interim orders instructing the authorities to handover the girl to her adopted mother.

It may be recalled that Tanvitha has been with the State-run Bala Sadan since October last year after a tussle broke out between her biological mother and foster mother to own her.

Prior to this, a couple belonging to Mahabubabad district – M Bhau Singh and Uma – gave their daughter to Rajendra Prasad and Swaroopa of Yellandu, in what is termed as an illegal adoption with a mediator, an RMP.

After two-and-a-half years, the biological mother wanted to take her daughter with them. However, the adopted mother didn’t oblige. Against this backdrop, a case was registered against both the parties and the girl was put in Khammam Bala Sadan.

After the court’s interim order that envisages girl to be handed over to foster mother until further orders, the foster mother Swaroopa expressed happiness.
