Hyderabad: Unlike the previous heads of the State administration, Telangana Chief Secretary SK Joshi is set to play a proactive role in taking benefits of government schemes to the needy. In this regard, the Chief Secretary will hold meetings with District Collectors directly once in a week and review the performance of district administration in implementation of welfare and developmental schemes.

The office of Head of State Administration sent an official communication to Collectors to attend the video conference on every Tuesday with the Chief Secretary. The agenda will be circulated to all district officials one day prior to the meeting. If any urgency, Collectors will be contacted directly by the Chief Secretary.

As 2019 elections are just a year away, the government is busy preparing ground to fulfill the promises it made to people. Mission Bhagiratha, two bedroom housing, crop investment support scheme, completion of irrigation projects, Mission Kakatiya, KCR Kits, Kalyana Lakshmi and pension schemes are major challenges before the government. During the meeting with Collectors, the Chief Secretary will also enquire about coordination and synergy between various departments for implementation of schemes. Joshi will also take initiative in resolving the district issues pending at the Secretariat by holding meetings with Secretaries concerned and district authorities.
