Telangana JAC Chairman Prof M Kodandaram alleged that TRS government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is afraid of the Telangana Jana Sena party hence the authorities were denying the permission for its public meeting.

Talking to reporters here, Kodandaram said that the TJS has the right to have its meeting anywhere and as per Article 19, it is a fundamental right. The JAC leader expressed doubts whether the people were living in a democratic country. The governments should be accountable and should work in a democratic manner as per the rules, he said.

"The government states that there would be pollution and it can cause inconvenience to the citizens if permission is granted to the public meeting of TJS but the same authorities gave permission to the film industry, which did not cause inconvenience to anyone.

It is up to the organisations to organise public meetings wherever they want. We condemn the undemocratic attitude of the government," said Kodandaram. The government is afraid of the TJS and hence the authorities were denying permission, he alleged.

It would be a mistake if the government thinks it can win by imposing restrictions, he said and added that the TJS was ready to go any distance to get the permission for the meeting scheduled on April 29.
