Hyderabad: The vision of Telangana police is to transform policing to people-centric and friendly, noted Director General of Police M Mahendar Reddy during a one-day interactive workshop held at JNTU Auditorium on Wednesday.

The workshop was attended by Inspector-level officers and above hierarchy of Rachakonda, Cyberabad and Hyderabad commissionerates. The police boss pitched in on enhancing the quality of standards to meet the expectations of common man. “Citizens expect hassle-free life, dignity, consistency and reliability from police. The Station House Officer along with his/her team should maintain the same standard, system and process that should be adopted commonly,” said the DGP.

Mahender Reddy further advised the officers to treat citizens equally. “No difference or partiality should be experienced by the citizens. The quality of services should be same for all,” he stressed. Meanwhile, the officers brainstormed on the challenges before them. The cops opined that prevention of crimes was better to maintain law and order.

Nenu Saitham, Community CCTV, Blue Colts, patrol cars, geo-tagging of cameras, Clues Team, successful community policing activities like Chabutra Mission, cordon and search are being effectively implemented, noted the DGP.

During the workshop, a short film was screened which was made on the initiatives taken up by the Telangana police. Additional Director General (Law and Order) Jitender, Rachakonda Commissioner Mahesh M Bhagwat, Cyberabad Commissioner V Sajjanar were present on the occasion.
