With e-way bill system and RCM (reverse charge mechanism) in place, Telangana government forecasts 22 per cent revenues growth for 2018-19 fiscal.

Somesh Kumar, Principal Secretary, Revenue Department, further said that intra-state e-way bill system will further add to revenue growth of the state.

Speaking with the media on the sidelines of an interactive session on e-way bill system organised by FTAPCCI here on Wednesday, Kumar said: “We’re expecting 22 per cent revenue growth rate for the current fiscal as against 19.42 per cent in FY18 and 17.09 per cent in FY17.

From April 14 midnight onwards, Telangana is migrating to national system as intra-state e-way bills taking place.” Intra-state e-way bill system facilitates faster movements of goods within the state as way bills are generated electronically.

Kumar further said that inter-state e-way bill system was effective from April 1. “So far, Rs 4,959-cr worth goods transported under inter-state e-way bill system, while Rs 4,360-cr worth material moved under intra-state,” he said.

“The e-way bills are required for transportation of goods worth over Rs50,000 within state for over 50 km,” said K Muralidhar, Assistant Commissioner, Central Tax (Kukatpalli Division).

FTAPCCI president Gowra Srinivas said that 34 lakh e-way bills were generated in Telangana alone as the state government has taken all possible measures on making total tax compliance under GST.”
