Hyderabad: Official spokesperson of Telangana Congress Dasoju Sravan on Thursday demanded dismissal of Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy from the State cabinet for his involvement in corrupt deals.

Addressing the media, he allegedthe Minister had forced the officials to buy private lands at a cost of Rs 18 lakh per acre for construction of integrated Collectorate in Suryapet town, though about 250 acres of government land was available.

He alleged that real estate business was encouraged in 150 acres around the Collectorate complex and the Minister owned 20 per cent of the land and had amassed crores of rupees with this business.

Stating that the Minister has been amassing money by using his influence as member of State cabinet, he suggested the Minister to change his surname from Guntakandla to ‘Gadekinda Pandikokku’ (a bandicoot).

“Though the Chief Minister called upon people to inform names of those indulging in corruption, there has been no action taken against the Minister,” he said, alleging that the Jagadish Reddy has been making transactions through one Saidi Reddy and even bought an engineering college by paying Rs 8 crore and rented it to the government for Collectorate and has been earning Rs 80 lakh per annum.

Saidi Reddy has indulged in quid pro quo with the Minister by giving 20 per cent of the share in the real estate venture around the Collectorate. Stating that a part of the land was sold to the government for over and above the cost of registration rate, he alleged as much as Rs 150 crore worth of scam has taken place.

“The Minister, through his benami, has bought a farm house in Ranga Reddy district through the commission he received in the Rs 600 crore worth works in Nalgonda town,” he alleged, adding thatsome more corrupt activities of the Minister would be revealed one by one soon.
