Hyderabad : Telangana Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi on Thursday advised the bankers to make arrangements for opening accounts for all eligible citizens. He also asked citizens to benefit from Bank Mitra Seva scheme.

Addressing a meeting of State-level Financial Inclusion Committee at the State Secretariat, Joshi said several services were being rendered to people through 4,185 Bank Mitras. He said about Rs. 5,469 crore loans were distributed in the year 2017-18. He said loans should be extended to medium industries in the State.

The Chief Secretary also reviewed the crop insurance policy. He also asked the banks to provide telecommunication facility to people. He also had discussions on Financial Literacy Campaign, Jan Dhan Yojna and other issues.

Principal Secretary Finance Rama Krishna, Union Joint Secretary N. Srinivasan, SLBC Convener Mani Kundan and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
