Focus to improve freight loading and punctuality of trains: SCR GM

Hyderabad : South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav advised the officials to focus on improving the Freight Loading and Punctuality from the beginning of the financial year to further improve the last year’s achievement, while keeping the safety as priority.
He conducted intensive review meeting on Safety, Punctuality and Freight loading today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad along with Principal Heads of Departments. The Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded attended the meeting through video conference.
Vinod Kumar Yadav conducted a detailed review of all the safety measures to be taken to ensure safety of train movements. He instructed the officials to focus on the vulnerable areas which need more attention and instructed to focus on the route cause for yard derailments etc and take appropriate steps to minimize such failures. He discussed the factors hampering the punctuality on the zone including minor incidents such as lifting of temporary speed restrictions and block bursts etc., He advised the officials to take all the possible measures to improve the Punctuality on the zone. He instructed all the DRMs to sensitize all the safety staff on strict adherence to safety procedures. He advised the officials to plan the track maintenance works meticulously without giving much scope to affect punctuality.
The General Manager advised the Officials to focus on freight loading to improve and instructed to make better action plans to meet the demands in supply of the wagons for loading Cement, Lime stone and Coal etc . He also reviewed the division wise progress of the works related to stations re-development and Unmanned level crossings over the zone and instructed to expedite the works.
Additional General Manger John Thomas and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
