Sangareddy: Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao described the decision of financial aid to farmers under Rythu Bandhu scheme by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as a momentous decision in the history of the State.

Speaking at a programme held at Sangareddy on Monday, Harish said the government had sanctioned Rs 6,000 crore for the scheme and 58 lakh farmers would get benefitted across the State, including tribal farmers who have been cultivating forest lands.

All the farmers who have patta lands will get Rs 4,000 per acre through cheques irrespective of land holdings, including tribals, for this Kharif season on May 10, and the same amount will be distributed in the second tranche in Rabi season in the year much prior to the seeding.

The distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques will be completed in less than 10 days, launching from May 10, with the coordination of revenue officials and public representatives and RSS members in the villages.

The distribution of Patta passbooks of farmers will be done on the same day by the deputation of four officers to every 300 farmers in each village on May 10 with secured process, informed the Minister.
For smooth implementation of Rythu Bandhu scheme, the Minister ordered the Collectors, bankers and public representatives to make all the necessary arrangements to process the cheques two weeks prior to the distribution day by maintaining enough cash in the banks and post offices. The RSS members and village-level officials will help delivering the cheques to senior citizens and those farmers who are unable to collect at their door step.

State Rythu Samanvaya Samithi Chairman Gutha Sukendar Reddy said the financial aid to the debt-ridden farmers of the State would be a great relief. The Collectors of Sangareddy, Medak and Siddipet entertained the questions raised by the farmers and clarified in detail about the Rythu Bandhu Scheme and distribution of new patta passbooks.
