Accord top priority for maintaining punctuality of trains: SCR GM

Hyderabad : South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav advised the officials to focus on maintaining and monitoring punctuality in running of trains over the Zone in the ensuing days keeping in view of summer rush and need to run more number of special trains.

He was addressing a review meeting on Punctuality, Freight Loading, Safety and Elimination of Unmanned Level Crossings on Monday at SCR Headquarters, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad with all Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers of six divisions viz., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntur, Guntakal and Nanded attended through video conferencing.

Vinod Kumar Yadav stressed upon monitoring the punctuality in running regular and special trains with ensuring adequate care in safety. He called upon officials to execute the plans for the removal of speed restrictions by reaching the targets of track related safety works in stipulated time frame etc. He held a Division wise detailed review of eliminating the Unmanned Level Crossings over the Zone as per the target and time frame.

He also instructed Divisional Railway Managers to identify and make out plans for new proposals pertaining to elimination of manned and unmanned level crossing with the construction of Road Under Bridges, Limited Height Subways, Diversion of traffic to the nearest gates in a phased manner with the involvement and consent of local public.

Additional General Manager John Thomas and other senior officials were also present in the meeting.
