Hyderabad: Counselling for Telangana State Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test – 2018 (TS EAMCET-2018) will likely be scheduled from May 25 to May 30. According to the Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and Commissioner of Technical Education officials, the results will be announced on May 18 and all necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that the counselling process and allotment of seats will be completed by the end of July, this year.

Giving details regarding the counselling sessions here on Tuesday, the TSCHE Chairman Prof T Papi Reddy said that the decision to this effect had been taken keeping in view the directions of the Supreme Court to commence classes from August 1 of the academic year.

Commissioner of Technical Education Naveen Mittal said there is also an improvement in the online services to the students seeking admissions for the academic year 2018-19 under TS EAMCET-2018. He said earlier students who were once allotted a seat under convener quota could not change their choice.

The Commissioner said that if at all a student makes a different choice than the seat allotted to the student, then the said student has to forego the fee reimbursement. But, the online system this time had been improved to give an option to the student for an intra-college transfer to choose a better option. For example, a student is allocated mechanical engineering under the convener quota. But, if the student wants to join computer science engineering in the same college then he can opt online for intra-college transfer to switch over from one stream to another.

Depending on the slots available such switchover from one stream to another within the college would be permitted, he said. This will enable the students not only to get an opportunity to study in the stream of their interest, but they would also not lose the fee reimbursement, he added. That apart, the entire certificate verification of the TS EAMCET-2018 would be done through online.

For this, the students will have to link their mobile number with Aadhaar. In turn, all the student will have to do is enter the number of his caste certificate, income certificate and the like online. The EAMCET-2018 system will take the date from the Mee Seva for validation.
