After holding a review meet with officials of the local body, the Chief Minister attended a public meeting.

Addressing the gathering, KCR announced several sops for the district that includedwaiving of pending water taxes,and added that there would be no water tax in future. The CM also issued orders for the upgradation of Medak government hospital besides sanctioning Rs100 crore for increasing the height of Ghanapur project.

Stating that every household in the district would get drinking water through Mission Bhagiratha by September-end, the CM said the purification of land records and RythuBandhuscheme were historical initiatives taken up in the State. “Ghanapur project has been developed in a great manner with 100 crore and the height of the project will be increased soon. Singur project and Haldivaagu will never be drained and full storage level will be maintained year long. There would be no power cuts in future,” said the Chief Minister.

Stating that the TRS government was restoring all major and micro irrigation projects in the State, KCR said, “From June 2, a fool-proof land registration system will be in force. Passbooks and registration documents will be delivered to the holders at their door step.’’

Irrigation Minister Harish Rao informed that 25,000 acres of agriculture land has been irrigated in the district by Ghanapur and Singur projects and 1,000 crore were spent on Mission Bhagiratha for Medak district. The Minister further added that works were in progress for threenational highways in the district, including a railway line. Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy,Deputy Speaker and Medak MLA Padma Devendar Reddy and others attended the public meeting.
