Hyderabad: In a bid to enlist the support of poorer sections in forward communities, KCR announced his government will bring out new poverty alleviation schemes for their benefit. Launching the Rythu Bandhu scheme, KCR said the representatives of many forward communities mainly Reddys, Kammas and Brahmins had requested the government to open residential educational institutions to provide quality education to the children of poor in their communities on the lines of the institutions set up by the government for BC, SC, ST and Minorities.

There is nothing wrong in opening such institutions for the poor in the forward castes, KCR said and pointed out that his government considered their demands as justified and would take necessary steps towards fulfilling their aspirations also. His government is committed to extending government assistance to every community which deserved help. "Poverty is poverty wherever it exists whether it is in the forward castes or weaker sections. It causes unremitting agony," he said.

He said that state’s economic growth has gone up in revenues and capital investments, placing the state in an unenviable position of being one among the top states in the country. The benefits that the government provides should reach all sections of people. Residential educational institutions guarantee freedom from poverty, he said.
