Warangal: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari said that agriculture has become profitable since the TRS came to power.

Participating in the distribution of pattadar passbooks and cheques under Rythu Bandhu scheme at Venkatapuram and Narsampet mandals of erstwhile Warangal district on Saturday, he said that agriculture is no more a worrying factor for the farmers.

“Telangana government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao changed the face of agriculture. Be it the 24-hour free power supply or financial assistance of Rs 8,000 per annum for each acre, the government facilitated all comfort that farmers needed. This apart, the government also fulfilled its promise of crop loan waiver besides providing hassle free supply of fertilisers and seed,” he added.

Congress and BJP, which criticise the TRS government, need to answer whether the states led by them providing all these facilities to farmers, Srihari questioned. While sanctioning a high school for Ramanujapuram village, the Deputy CM directed District Collector D Amoy Kumar to start the classes from this academic year itself. He announced Rs 60 lakh for the construction of six classrooms.

Tribal Minister A Chandulal, MP A Sitaram Naik and Civil Supplies Corporation chairman Peddi Sudarshan Reddy were among others present.
