TSCHE, ATA ink MoU on higher education
The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Telugu Association (ATA) to stimulate and facilitate the development of collaborative and mutually beneficial programmes.
​Hyderabad: The Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Telugu Association (ATA) to stimulate and facilitate the development of collaborative and mutually beneficial programmes.
Addressing a joint media conference here on Saturday, TSCHE Chairman Prof T Papi Reddy, Vice Chairmen Prof R Limbadri and Prof Venkataramana and ATA president Karunakar Asireddy said the MoU would help enhance the intellectual life and cultural development in Telangana and to contribute to increased international cooperation in the field of higher education.
Following the MoU, both the ATA and the TSCHE agreed to work together in the preparation of consolidated programmes in the sphere of higher education in the State and to evolve perspective plans for development of higher education in the State.
As part of the collaboration, both also agreed to promote ‘cooperation and coordination of educational institutions’ among themselves and explore the scope for interaction with industry and other related establishments and to encourage and promote innovations in curricular development, restructuring of courses and updating of syllabi in universities and colleges, Prof Papi Reddy said.
To take this forward, both would conduct seminars, conferences, workshops etc., to disseminate information about higher education opportunities in the USA and India. Besides, the ATA and TSCHE would provide guidance regarding career opportunities and options for visiting students from India and the USA.
Also, the TSCHE and ATA have decided to work with universities and other educational institutions and foster cooperation between the USA and India.
This, the TSCHE Chairman said, was planned through exchanging information relating to their activities in teaching and research in fields of mutual interests. Further, both have also agreed to promote joint research projects with particular emphasis on internationally funded projects.
TSCHE Secretary Dr N Srinivas Rao, ATA standing committee chair Sridhar Tirupati and the ATA Board of Trustees Bhuvanesh and Vinod Koduru were also present at the MoU signing ceremony.
