In the recent checks, officials found that some companies are extremely violating the rules and particularly frauds were found in the weights. Some companies were running without obtaining license and fertilizer bags also were bearing less weight.

Akun Sabharwal said that while recent checks on seed manufacturers and traders, officials noticed that the seed companies are not mentioning manufacturing and expiry date and also they are doing business without license. Raids conducting during the last three days state wide, 154 cases are booked and Rs. 2.35 crore worth of seeds are been seized and fines were levied on the companies.

The Controller said that in future strict action will be taken if anybody violates rules and regulations and cheats farmers. No one will be spared if found guilty and cheating farmers, criminal cases will be booked and arrests will be made. Mainly if the dealers are found selling seeds or fertilizers by cheating in weight is very highly punishable offence.

In keeping view of coming Kharif season Controller ordered officials to keep more focus on the seed company’s violations and continue the checking and raids on the companies and traders. If any farmer found any violation or fraud by the companies he requested them to pass on the information on the Whats App number 7330774444 immediately, Sabharwal said in a press release.
