Hyderabad: The State government is all set to bring second Green, Blue, White and Pink revolutions by promoting food processing industry. The government already finalised draft Food Processing policy under which the food processing industries will be established in every assembly constituency.

In an interaction with the media, Industry Minister KT Rama Rao said that food processing industry will be promoted with an objective to create more jobs and increase income of the people relied on agriculture and allied activities. The establishment of food processing industries will also give a scope to optimum utilisation of natural and agricultural resources in the State.

The just launched Crop Investment Support scheme, construction of irrigation projects, round the clock power supply to farming, making availability of fertilisers and seeds in every agricultural season, construction of godowns and establishment of food processing units will pave way to second green revolution in the State, he said. The promotion of Pisciculture and aqua culture and incentives provided to Diary farming will help bring Blue and White revolution soon. The Minister said that efforts were also on to bring a pink revolution by promoting meat processing industry in the State soon.

Rama Rao said that the government is also striving to link agriculture related activities with Employment Guarantee scheme and to bring a new crop insurance scheme farmer as a unit to protect the farmers from distress. The Minister claimed the crop investment scheme was a big success as government reached the benefits to all the deserved without any major hurdles.
