Hyderabad: The State government has taken up a special drive to complete the distribution of Rythu Bandhu cheques and pattadar passbooks before June 20 deadline, set by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. In this regard, all Special Officers appointed to districts will take a visit to villages in their respective jurisdiction to address the problems encountered by the local officials in distributing passbooks and cheques.

At an emergency meeting with the Special Officers at the Secretariat here on Friday, Chief Secretary SK Joshi instructed the officials to rush to their districts and hold regular mandal-level meetings to sort out the technical problems in uploading the details of beneficiaries and the errors, including wrong names figured in the passbooks and cheques. So far, 40 lakh passbooks of the total 57.33 lakh have been distributed.

The Chief Secretary asked the officials to pay special attention to linking Aadhaar details with the passbooks of scheme beneficiaries. Joshi suggested the Special Officers to distribute cheques to farmers who failed to submit their Aadhaar details by taking their digital signatures. He also directed the officials to monitor availability of money in banks during the cheque distribution.
