Hyderabad: BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao dared Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to prove that Telugu people in Karnataka had voted against BJP.

Addressing the State Executive Meeting here on Monday, Rao said that Telugu people from Srikakulam, Godavari districts, Nellore, Chittoor and Hyderabad, residing in Karnataka, had supported BJP. In the predominantly Telugu populated constituencies like Yelahanka, Bommanahalli, Mahadevapura in Bengaluru and Chitradurga, Rayagada and other districts, the BJP had recorded victories proving that Telugu people are with BJP.

He said that the leaders and cadre of BJP should remember that Chandrababu Naidu is the most unreliable political leader. “Betrayal is his life and activity,” Rao slammed.

Further, he said that there were only two political parties which wanted Congress-free country. One, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh and BJP and the other the TDP, which the party founder N T Rama Rao had led anti-Congress movement from the front.

However, both the Chief Ministers from Telugu States Chandrababu Naidu and K Chandrasekhar Rao had shown their true colours supporting Congress-supported JD(S) in Karnataka. “Neither the Congress nor the regional party JD(S) could win the election on their own and BJP has become the single largest party which speaks volumes of the wishes of people of Karnataka,” he said.

Rao also added that the party had swept the coastal areas winning majority seats as people were fed up with the Congress joining hands with communal forces.

Earlier, in his presidential address, State party president Dr K Laxman said that against the wishes and aspirations of the people of Telangana, the ruling TRS headed by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been helping only his family and his henchmen violating all democratic norms.

Giving details of how the TRS has failed to deliver on his electoral promises, Laxman said that corruption has become an order of the day during the implementation of several projects like Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and others. Land and liquor mafia are gaining ground amassing crores of rupees and causing loss to the State exchequer, he alleged.

Further, appeasement of Minorities is on the high and Rs 40 crore has been given to Hyderabad parliament constituency only, represented by Asaduddin Owaisi, he said. On the contrary, many Hindu organisations and other social organisations were facing problems like being implicated in false cases, he said.
