Govt will complete 2BHK works by next June: KTR
Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said that the government would complete the construction of one lakh double-bedroom houses in city by next June.
Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said that the government would complete the construction of one lakh double-bedroom houses in city by next June. The Minister, who reviewed the works of double-bedroom houses in the city on Wednesday, said that the construction of double-bedroom houses was on fast track and construction of one lakh houses is being carried out in about 109 places in the city.
The GHMC officials said that they were monitoring the construction at the sites and removing the hurdles wherever arising. The officials further informed that if the construction was taken up with the present pace, 40,000 houses could be completed by December-end and expected that the remaining houses would be completed by June next year. They also suggested the involvement of local MLAs and MPs in overseeing the construction works, so that the works could be completed in a speedy manner.
The Minister asked the officials to give the information pertaining to the houses to the MLAs and also wanted them to have transparency in selection of beneficiaries. He wanted the officials to use Aadhaar, biometric system and also the details of Household Survey in selecting the beneficiaries. He asked the officials to take steps to prepare plans to distribute 13,000 houses, which were taken up under JNNURM, Gruha Kalpa.
