​Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on the occasion of World Environment Day urged people to participate actively in the fourth phase of Haritha Haram which will start in July and also to take care of the saplings.

In a message, the Chief Minister said that Haritha Haram programme was taken up to increase green cover in the State. For the past three-year, the progress of Haritha Haram was more than satisfactory, and the results were also excellent. It is also the responsibility of every citizen to take care of plants by watering and protecting them.

The Chief Minister said that the impact of environmental changes around the world will be on us and everyone should be alert on this and put an end to use pollutants. As the United Nations had taken up campaign against the use of plastic, K Chandrashekar Rao said that his government is also educating people about the health hazards due to excess use of plastic. To promote the use of clean energy, he said the government is planning to introduce electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the State had achieved substantial progress in utilisation of Solar energy. The programme of forest rejuvenation taken up by Forest department had been getting good results, he added.
