Mahbubnagar: The two-day physical fitness tests conducted on school children for admission into 4th class in the Sports School at Warangal, run by sports authority of Telangana State, concluded on Tuesday.

According to Satya Vaani, District Youth and Sports officer (DYSO), during the two-day physical fitness test conducted by the District Sports Department, a total of 66 school children had taken part. Of them 41 are boys and 25 girls.

“As part of the two-day selection process, we have conducted physical fitness tests on school children below nine years of age by subjecting them to various tests like short run, long run, high jump, long jump, and throw ball etc. On the first day 31 students had undergone fitness test, while on the second day 35 students.

Overall during the two-day selection process we have conducted physical fitness test on 66 students. Based on their performance we will announce the final merit list soon and accordingly they will be further sent to Hyderabad for next level of selection, which is scheduled to be conducted in July next month,” said Satya Vaani.

Earlier on Monday, students from Jadcherla, Devarkadra and Mahbubnagar constituencies took part in the selection process. On the concluding day students from Makthal, Narayanpet and other newly created mandals took part.

The comprehensive selection procedure was conducted at the main stadium in Mahbubnagar district. The DYSO staff, coaches Sunil, Khaleel, Amjad, Muneer and Chenna Veeraiah, retired physical director extended their support in the two-day selection process.
