Gadwal: The Cultural and Public Relations Department has cleared the names of 42 old age artistes for pensions under the Old Age Artistes Pension Scheme launched by the State government.

Following the promise made earlier by the State government, the district administration had sought applications from eligible old age artistes who took part in art and cultural programmes.

As part of this, the district administration cleared a list of 42 candidates from district for old age pension under Artistes quota. “We have cleared the names of some 42 artistes who have applied for old age pensions under artistes quota from Gadwal.

For availing the pensions, the listed candidates have to provide their details of bank accounts and submit identification details of Aadhaar card to the District Public Relations officer as early as possible,” said in-charge Joint Collector D Venugopal, Jogulamba Gadwal district.

Earlier, the district administration had shortlisted about 30 artistes who crossed 60 years of age for the old age pension, in addition to this, now the names of 42 more artistes were cleared for the old age artistes pension scheme. Now 72 retired artistes would be benefited under the old age artists pension scheme from Gadwal district.
