Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is all set to bid adieu to 15 year old practice of announcing contestants at eleventh hour in the previously held assembly elections. The TRS fought 2004,2009 and 2014 assembly elections. In the electioneering, KCR declared candidates only in the last hour to to prevent internal squabbles between the ticket aspirants.

Confident of winning more number of seats with the slew of welfare and developmental programmes implemented by his government, the TRS Chief has decided to announce the party candidates two months before the elections.

Leaders said that KCR is of the view that the party lost many seats due to delay in the announcement of names. Early declaration of the names will help the candidates to consolidate their positions and also address the issues mainly the rival threat within the party. The CM is planning to announce the names of all contestants in January if the elections are held in April.

The survey reports already revealed that 39 existing MLAs will not win in 2019 elections. These legislators will have to put more energies and improve their performance before KCR announced the contestants. Else, the MLAs will not get party ticket .
