Stalker kills woman in broad daylight; thrashed by mob
In a gruesome incident, a 22-year-old woman was killed by a man in the broad daylight right in front of the District Collectorate here on Friday.
Karimnagar: In a gruesome incident, a 22-year-old woman was killed by a man in the broad daylight right in front of the District Collectorate here on Friday.
According to reports, the killer, identified as Vamshidhar Goud (26), slit the victim’s throat a few metres away from the district administrative office. The victim, identified as Vootla Roshini alias Rasagna was working in a Mee Seva centre which is located in front of Collectorate near the Press Club in Karimnagar.
Rasagna belonged to Godavarikani and Vamshidhar Goud belongs to Kataram village. Rasagna and Vamshidar had been reportedly in love with each other for the past three years. When the elders of Rasagna came to know about their relationship, they strictly warned Rasagna to stay away from Vamshidhar Goud.
Fifteen days ago, Rasagna came to Karimnagar and started working in the Mee Seva centre had been staying in a private hostel. She kept herself away from Vamshidhar. On coming to know the woman’s whereabout, Vamshidhar met Rasagna and tried to convince her.
A heated argument took place between both of them. When she did not listen to him, Vamshidhar slit her throat in a fit of rage in broad daylight dragging her out of the Mee Seva centre.
However, the local people caught Vamshidhar and thrashed him black and blue before handing him over to the police who arrived there soon after the incident. The police took him in to custody. The staff of Mee Seva centre who witnessed the incident immediately called an ambulance and rushed Rasagna to a nearby hospital, but the doctors declared her brought dead.
According to eye witnesses, Vamshidhar approached Rasagna and struck up a conversation with her, before dragging her out of the centre and slit her throat on the road. Unconfirmed reports said Vamshidhar also tried to commit suicide after attacking the woman.
Though the police have not established the motive of the murder, they suspect that the accused had been stalking the woman over the past few months. The police registered a case and are investigating.
