Warangal: The Telangana government is making efforts in creating Startups ecosystem in the State, claimed Jayesh Ranjan, the Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce & Information Technology.

He felt that there is a huge scope for Startups in the State, while addressing a gathering at the three-day workshop on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Deep Learning at SR Engineering College (SREC), said a release here on Monday. He lauded SREC and SRiX (SR innovation exchange) for the initiative.

The workshop was organised in collaboration with Leadingindia.ai, in association with Royal Academy of Engineering (UK), NVIDIA, Amazon, University College London and Brunel University with focus on ‘Making Deep Learning and AI skills mainstream in India.

It was aimed to fulfil trilateral needs of entrepreneurship, industry, academia-partnership and application-inspired engineering research. The SREC was the chief collaborator for this initiative in Telangana State informed Dr Ram Deshmukh of the college.

The Chairman of SR group of institutions A Varada Reddy said this initiative aims to equip faculty members and students with the industry-driven artificial intelligence and deep-learning tools, train and guide faculty members of associate institutes to do cutting-edge research in the related areas.

The Director Leadingindia.ai Prof Deepak Garg stated they have initiated this program with a vision to imbibe AI and Deep Learning skills in the faculty and student community to fill the gaps of industry and academia. The college principal V Mahesh informed that around 75 faculty members of various engineering colleges of the region participating in the workshop.
