Vemulapally (Nalgonda): Two persons including a woman were killed and 15 others were injured when a private bus turned turtle at Vemulapally in the early hours of Tuesday. Those killed were identified as Ellamalla Subba Ramamma and Billi Nageshwar Rao.

The bus belongs to Laxmi Gayatri travels. It was going to Cheerala in Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad. It overturned after crossing Nagarjuna Sagar project left canal at Vemulapally around 3.30 am on Tuesday.

Police suspect that the driver could have lost control of the bus while negotiating a turn near NSP left canal. There were 36 passengers in the bus at the time of accident. The injured were admitted to Area Hospital in Miryalaguda. Vemulapally police rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the hospital. The driver of the ill-fated bus fled. The police registered a case.
