Habitual offender booked under Preventive Detention Act
The Warangal Police Commissionerate on Monday invoked Preventive Detention (PD) Act on a habitual thief, Rapola Venkateshwarlu of Pedda Pendyal village under Dharmasagar mandal.
Hanamkonda: The Warangal Police Commissionerate on Monday invoked Preventive Detention (PD) Act on a habitual thief, Rapola Venkateshwarlu of Pedda Pendyal village under Dharmasagar mandal.
The order, issued by Commissioner of Police V Ravinder, was served to the accused, who is currently in Warangal Central Prison, by the Madikonda Inspector R Santhosh in the presence of the Jailor.
According to the police, Venkateshwarlu, painter by profession, involved in several thefts in Mahabubabad district and had also served sentence. Venkateshwarlu, who used to target locked houses, committed thefts in Mills Colony, Madikonda and Palakurthy police station limits recently.
The Commissioner said that they have invoked PD Act after they found the accused unwilling to reform himself. In this backdrop, the Act was invoked against him as a deterrent measure.
