Bhupalpally: Here is a latest addition to the rather lengthy list of visitors, both VIPs and common people, visiting the State government’s big-ticket project Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) in the district.

Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker Monday took a delegation of GWMC corporators and TRS workers and leaders, who are all over 700 in strength, in the constituency to Kaleshwaram to witness the mammoth project and create awareness on the project among them.

The tour to Kaleshwaram has been organised as part of the TRS Warangal (West) constituency party workers’ monthly meeting. The MLA was accompanied by Telangana State Water Resources Development Corporation (TSWRDC) chairman V Prakash and KUDA chairman M Yadava Reddy.

They visited Annaram Barrage and Kannepelli pump house. Prakash explained the visitors about the significance of the KLIP and described the project as a gift to the people from the State government.

Erstwhile Warangal district will be the first district to receive water from the project, he said. Later addressing the party workers, leaders and the corporators, Vinay Bhasker said Kaleshwaram project has been receiving great compliments from across the nation. The irrigation project is designed to cater the water needs of the entire State, he said.

“Lakhs of people, including central officials and ministers from across the country, are visiting the prestigious project. Every person need to know the project, which is a lifeline to Telangana. That is why the constituency leaders and workers and corporators told to join the tour,”
the MLA said.

He said Governor ESL Narasimhan and his wife Vimala Narasimhan, Jharkhand former CM Hemanth Soren, Union Ministry of Environment and Forest secretary CK Mishra and 15th Finance Commission secretary Arvind Mehta and many visited the KLIP, which indicates the projects’ importance.

“The pace at which the works are going on is amazing,” Vinay Bhasker added. Corporators Dasyam Vijay Bhasker, V Ravinder, T Vidyasagar, Aruna Shravan, Srilekha, J Ramesh, Ashritha Reddy and many others took part in the tour. As many as 20 buses and 25 cars were engaged to transport the visitors.

It may be noted that in the past, Nizamabad MP K Kavitha along with a host of elected representatives from Nizamabad district and Finance Minister E Rajender along with about 1,500 farmers from Husnabad Assembly constituency visited the project site.
