Bhadrachalam: A large number of people belonging to various tribes assembled at the Integrated Tribal Development Authority (ITDA) office with petitions during the Darbar Programme on Monday. For the last four weeks, the tribal welfare office has been witnessing huge rush of tribal people who throng the office with their myriad complaints, expecting early solutions by the officials concerned.

These tribals are coming from various hamlets under the ITDA limits. On Monday, they gathered at the office in the early hours and submitted their applications on different issues. One of the main grievances being raised by the tribal people is issuing of the patta passbooks to their podu lands. They also appealed to the officials for giving subsidy to their lands under the Rythu Bandhu Scheme.

So far, as many as 18,000 applications have been received from the tribals for the last four weeks seeking issuance of patta passbooks for their podu lands, according to the ITDA officials. In their applications, they urged the officials to survey their lands and implement the Rythu Bandhu Scheme. All ITDA unit officers participated in the programme.
