Nalgonda: AITUC State General Secretary V Ratnakar Rao here on Tuesday demanded that the government frame a comprehensive Labour Laws and implement Minimum Wages Act.

Ratnakar Rao, while participating in a meeting held CPI district office here, he said the government had failed to implement the Minimum Wages Act. As a result of which, the workers in the unorganised sector were being treated as bonded labourer. Both the State and Central governments had failed in implementing the Labour laws.

The Modi government had been trying to water down the Labour Laws for the benefit of corporate sector. Unemployment had increased, but no steps were taken to create employment opportunities, he said.

AITUC district General Secretary Palla Devender Reddy expressed his concern over the TRS not fulfilling its promise to regularise the services of all contract workers. He demanded that the State government redress grievances of the fair prices shop dealers.

N Satish, P Venkatrao, P Jaya, N Venkateshwarlu, Sumathi, Shantha Kumari, Srinu, Nagaraju, Rajeshwari, Anjaneyulu and others participated in the meeting.
