​Hyderabad: Chief Secretary S K Joshi on Tuesday instructed Secretaries of all departments to adopt new technologies to reach the benefits of the government sponsored welfare schemes instantly to the people and address their grievances on the spot. To achieve desirable results, he said dashboards would be installed in every Secretary’s office to monitor the progress in the implementation of schemes from time to time.
In a video conference with District Collectors from the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary reviewed the status of Rythu Bandhu Scheme and enrollment of farmers in the new insurance scheme to be launched on August 15.
Joshi said the details of all schemes would be uploaded on the dashboard. Collectors and Secretaries would access the data to be used for strict enforcement of the schemes. He instructed IT and Technical departments to develop dashboards in consultation with CGG (Centre For Good Governance). Officials were also instructed to concentrate on performance indicators.
Municipal Administration and Urban Development Secretary Arvind Kumar said the government released required funds for taking up developmental works in all municipal corporations. Bus bays, beautification of traffic junctions, graveyards, dump yards and slaughter houses are among other works to be taken up in municipal corporations. Apart from implementing ODF (Open Defecation Free) policy, the government also established Faecal Sludge scheme by establishing faecal sludge treatment plants in the corporations.
Secretary, Union Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation Parameshwaran Aiyar praised the Telangana government for achieving 86 per cent coverage in the construction of toilets in the State. He hoped that Telangana would achieve 100 per cent ODF State by October 2 this year.
