Hyderabad: Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao on Thursday said that the TRS was going to play a decisive role in the Central government in coming up days.

The Minister was addressing a gathering of leaders from Congress, BJP and others from Yellareddy constituency who joined TRS at Telangana Bhavan on Thursday. “In the coming days, we will also have a good decisive role in Central government.

I have confidence... if your blessings are there, we will definitely have that role,” said KT Rama Rao. The Minister said this while assuring the Valmiki Boyas and Kayedu Lambadis of including them in STs. He said that the government has taken the responsibility and was in talks with Centre and would solve the issue.

The Minister assured to sanction Rs 25 crore to the Yellareddy Municipality for the all-round development. He said that the Congress ruled for 50 years and Telugu Desam for 15 years, but both parties did nothing for the development of the region. No party had thought to give water to 1.20 crore acres like Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. “The Sri Ram Sagar Project was started by first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and it is yet to be completed,” said KTR, adding that the pace of construction of project has picked up during the TRS rule.

The IT Minister said that right from 24-hour power to all sectors to projects, roads and other infrastructure works, the people were getting benefitted with the government works. “Because of the efforts of CM, the TRS has been winning elections one after other in the State. We were zero in GHMC, but now we have over 100 seats. If there is any party which should be afraid of elections, it should be Congress,” said KTR.

He added that Telangana was the only State to spend Rs 42,000 crore on welfare activities like pensions, Kalyana Lakshmi and others. “It is the responsibility of the people to save a working Chief Minister like Chandrashekar Rao, who always thinks of poor,” he said.
