Nakrekal constituency all set to be Open Defecation Free
District Collector Gaurav Uppal said Nakrekal constituency was ahead of other constituencies in construction of individual toilets in the district and was going to get Open Defecation-Free tag very soon.
Nalgonda: District Collector Gaurav Uppal said Nakrekal constituency was ahead of other constituencies in construction of individual toilets in the district and was going to get Open Defecation-Free tag very soon.
Speaking at a meeting with Assistant Project Managers, Field Assistants, sarpanches, MPTCs, ZPTCs, MPPs and other local body representatives at Nakrekal on Tuesday. Uppal said the goal of turning the constituency a reality, the programme was taken up in a systematic manner with perfect coordination between officials and people’s representatives.
Only 10 percent of works were left for getting Nakrekal declared as ODF constituency under Swacch Bharath Mission (Rural). If works of pending 1,971 toilets in 36 villages were finished, then Nakrekal would become the first ODF constituency and a role model in the district, he added.
He assured to provide sand for the construction of toilets and ordered the MPDOs to look into the matter. He exuded confidence that the works of pending toilets would finish by the end of this month .
MLA Vemula Veeresham informed that the constituency had 100 gram panchayats and works of toilets were completed cent per cent in Narketpally and Chityal mandals, adding that pending works of remaining 36 villages would be completed by July 15 on war-footing. He exuded confidence that Nakrekal would get ODF tag by July 1 at any cost. DRDA PD Anjaiah and other officials participated in the meeting.
